Diesel Sets New 6 1/2-Year Low at $2.338
The U.S. average retail diesel price fell for the fifth consecutive week, down 4.1 cents a gallon to $2.338, the Department of Energy reported Dec. 14. The latest decline set a new low for prices over the past nearly 6 1/2 years, surpassing $2.354 set June 1, 2009.

Logistics operator UTi Worldwide Inc. posted a slightly lower fiscal third-quarter loss of $32.7 million, or 34 cents per share, as ocean freight forwarding results weakened further at the company that has agreed to a $1.35 billion acquisition by DSV, a Danish supply chain and forwarding company.
