Trailer Makers Seek Timeline for Review of Phase 2 GHG Rule
A trailer makers group is asking a federal appeals court to require that two federal agencies state when they plan to make a final decision on a 2016 Obama-era heavy-truck greenhouse gas rule. Whether revised or kept in place, the rule would regulate trailers for the first time.
Utility Selects New Curtain for Trailers
Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co. announced the Kin-Sider from Kinedyne will be the new standard curtain installed on Utility’s Tautliner curtain-sided trailers.
Teamsters Union Approves Two Five-Year Pacts With UPS
Local union leaders with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters which represent UPS Inc. and UPS freight workers approved on Aug. 9 two separate five-year national contracts. This paves the way for the 250,000 workers, including drivers, loaders, package sorters, dockworkers and operations team members and 11,000 freight workers to vote on the contacts in September.

FleetPride Inc. announced it acquired the assets of Long Island Truck Parts, founded in 1972 and based in Medford, N.Y.
Chassis Company FlexiVan to Purchase Intermodal Tire Business From New Pride
FlexiVan is purchasing substantially all of the assets of New Pride Corp.’s intermodal tire division, the Kenilworth, N.J., intermodal chassis leasing company said Aug. 6.
